What is orthodontics?

Orthodontics, or dentofacial orthopedics, is a specialized form of dentistry focusing on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental and facial abnormalities. 

An orthodontist is a dental specialist who has received two to three years of additional training and experience. Orthodontists are trained to straighten teeth, correct misaligned jaw structure, and improve the function of your bite and deliver the beautiful healthy smile that you want and deserve. 

Orthodontic problems require specialized care. Patients who have dental and facial irregularities should see an orthodontist. What happens after the initial consultation?

You're one step closer to achieving your dream smile! After your consultation, we will schedule your first appointment and your doctor will place your new orthodontic appliance. This appointment generally takes about an hour, and during this time our team will make sure you are as comfortable as possible. When you're ready to schedule your first appointment, contact us to get started.

Visiting the orthodontist about every four to six weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. We understand arranging schedules can be difficult so we strive to your appointments as convenient as possible. When scheduling appointments, please let us know what days and times work best for you.
